Do You Have Your 2011 New Year’s Resolutions set?!

Here are some ideas on starting the new year right!

Niche Job Boards – the Easiest Way to Find Your Ideal Job!

YouTube Preview Image
Niche job boards, you should definitely be using these in your job search efforts as they can be a great source of unique career opportunities that may not be found on other online career/job search sites.

When seeking new employment just about everyone goes to the Internet and does an online search for jobs that they feel they would be interested in applying for. The internet is by all accounts the best source for available job listings that are advertised anywhere!

job boardsInterestingly enough, the vast majority of people visit the most common online job boards not fully realizing that their respective profession may have any online job source that they are not fully aware of. For example, if you are an optical engineer or a cardiac cath lab nurse there is a high probability that there will be a job board that caters to your unique profession.

The average job seeker will automatically visit Monster.com, hotjobs.com, and Craigslist to find employment opportunities and usually stop there. This is a big mistake as many employers will seek out specialized….

The Mock Interview – the Secret to Getting Hired

Mock InterviewYes! The Mock Interview is a great tool to greatly help improve your interview skills and thus get job offers much, much faster than those who do not take the time to practice this essential component of their job search arsenal.

Following Up After a Job Interview

Below is a video that discusses how to follow-up after a job interview. While many people are very proficient and professional in how they follow-up after a career focused interview, there are still many who struggle with the idea of communicating with the company they just interviewed with. I cannot stress enough the importance of follow-up after any job interview as without it you will surely be one of the few who do not.

You will notice that I have a slight cold and my voice does not sound terrific in the video so please be patient with me.

It is normal for every person to strive for career advancement and growth.

It makes them feel that all of their hard work, working long hours and sacrificing family time for the job, has paid off – that a promotion is, indeed, the best reward as a result of all this effort and commitment.

Unemployed? Get Back Into Fitness!

It is 2011 and this year I will be turning 50 years old which is very depressing! While I have always been a very fit and athletic individual I have decided to make this year fitness focused as I truly believe in the benefits of becoming the most fit person I possibly can be.

So what are those benefits you may ask? Well for starters whenever I am in a fitness phase of my life, which has been the vast majority of my life, I feel more in control! I can’t explain why that happens, or how it happens, but my belief is this feeling is derived from the process of steering myself down a certain path that I am totally in control of the inevitable outcome. Also, a new found sense of confidence is always part of my mindset whenever I am actively engaged in the fitness lifestyle.

How can this help you, the job seeker or the unemployed seeking work? Well, just the two items I mentioned above would be a huge benefit to you as I would probably guess you are struggling with both your “sense of control” in your life as well as a lack of self confidence resulting from your job search/job loss. Exercise can….   Read the rest of this entry »

Why You’re Not Getting Job Offers!

To follow is a video that will discuss possible reasons why you may not be getting job offers. You may or you may not recognize yourself in some of the items that are discussed in this video but may hopefully gain some insight into possible reasons why a job offer may not be forthcoming if you have gone through the traditional interview process and have yet to receive any job offers. While these are only three possible reasons, of which there are many more, these can be the most prevalent that I have seen and are the ones that stick out most in my mind as to why certain candidates will be excluded from the hiring process.

Please watch the video and if you have any suggestions or questions please feel free to either leave a comment or press on the contact us button at the top of my blog and send me an e-mail and I’ll be glad to answer any questions you may have.
